Georgia G with a Collar

A great design for University of Georgia graduates.  The spikes and "G" logo are gumpaste on a chocolate buttercream cake with a fondant collar.  Go Dawgs!

A Celebration! Georgia Tech Groom's Cake and Golden Medallion Wedding Cake

I was honored to prepare both cakes for a beautiful couples wedding celebration.

Buzz logo is done using a frozen buttercream transfer on the top and a royal icing plaque on each side.

Fondant medallions and borders were painted with gold lustre dust.

My assistant, Keith, is indicating that this is one big cake!  Each tier was about 5 inches tall.

Georgia "G" Cake

This cake was served at a rehearsal dinner for a Georgia Bulldog fan.  That "G" is as recognizable around here as any letter can be.

One of a Kind Cakes... Bryant-Denny Stadium and a Shrimp Boat Cake

This groom's cake honored the groom's alma mater, the University of Alabama.  The circular ramps are constructed from fondant wrapped cookie stacks and the "fans" are red sprinkles.  The field is a sheet of rolled green fondant with hand painted yard lines.  Challenging to make, but lots of fun, too!

A SHRIMP BOAT CAKE

This groom's cake was designed for a groom who spent some time working
on a shrimp boat.  The "rigging" was made from cake dowels colored with edible
ink with tulle netting.  Pink fondant shrimp are the catch of the day.  Avery is the
lucky bride!

Tracing with Icing

With a technique called a "frozen buttercream transfer", you can create very specific images without the artificial look (and significant expense) of images printed from a computer using frosting sheets.  Reverse images are traced on to wax paper, frozen, then flipped onto a cake top.

This cake was served at a rehearsal dinner to honor the groom's alma mater.

Hibiscus flowers added a little dimension to the cake top.

The bride chose her future husband's special car for his cake!

The stained glass was the frozen transfer on this cake (the church provided the photo).
